I have been without internet access for about 10 days, my own choosing. Today I was notified by a handful of concerned friends that I have been hacked, AGAIN!! This is most distressing to me because technology is certainly not my first love!
The hack apparently used my picture and sounded so real, saying that I had gotten a grant for a huge sum of money...with a glitch of having to pay $1,000 to get it! I appreciate these friends who removed it for me, went to the police and notified me.
Rest assured I would NEVER notify ANYONE using social media platforms to inform of information such as this! It is a sad state of affairs that someone is so crooked to do such a thing, steal, lie and cheat and defame a person's character in this way. Rest assured, there certainly are wonderful folks out there; my friends rank high on this ladder. However, I always remember a saying from Anthony DeMello who said, "In God we trust, but still always tie up your camel!"
So, I am "tying up" my camel, taking precautions and hopefully can ward off another attack! Personal scams on the phone also require diligence so, I encourage you to always be on the lookout for something that sounds too good to be true! And thanks again to my good friends who have alerted me to this incident!
