Knots

Have you ever encountered "knots" in your life? There are all kinds of "knots", most
notably, those we get with rope, string, yarn, shoelaces, and things like that but think of life's "knots" and issues that we just can't figure out how to deal with.  Those could fall in various categories such as challenging relationships, health situations, financial concerns...you name it, there are all sorts of knots. Perhaps these knots aren't even clear until we listen to a small, still voice inside us.

Lately, I have been aware of several "knots" I was dealing with and it seems, for the most part, these concerns have just melted away.  Sometimes, the harder a person  tries to find answers the less clear the answers are but little by little beams of light shine and the way becomes clearer.

Talking about things out loud may bring a comment or perspective from a friend that helps. Making a phone call to a relative to update that person about a situation opened the door for me; this all happened quite without warning.

I do know our faith can help.  For me, the blessed Mother has a title, "the Untier of Knots." This specific prayer, asks her intercession to her Son, Jesus, for our intentions.  It's amazing how many of those tight knots loosened up and answers came. Sometimes the answers came when I least expected, after I listened to a small, still voice suggesting I make a phone call, or to reach out to someone or even to forgive a long-held resentment.

What does that small, still voice ask of each of us?  What comes to each of us in the quiet of our being?  How is that spirit inside each of us trying to help loosen those knots? That spirit is in each of us.  Our knots can be loosened! Are you listening to that spirit?

1000 Piece Puzzle

So many folks just love sitting and putting puzzles together; some even love doing the 1000 piece ones; not me, though!  However, life has dealt me one in the past months and I have been sitting with it, just pondering how to put it all together.

Now, my husband, Jerry loves the 300 piece ones and he has explained his strategy as well as sitting hours with him as he just patiently looks everything over, finally finding a piece here and there.  Nothing is fast though.

Life is like that lately and days I think I have made no progress on my puzzle because of just sitting and looking at the different options someone says something to me that brings some light or clarification and then it's as if a couple things fit in.

My sister, Deb, just asked tonight about my concerns and reminded me how I was paralyzed with fear only a couple weeks ago and now some things were falling into place.

Amazingly, a person pointed me in a good direction and with some phone calls I have an interview next week.  That will help, too, in dealing with my concern...another piece to the puzzle, making this thousand piece monster take shape a bit more.

Of course, there was a saying to the effect that in order to get muddy waters to clear, we only had to let the water sit quietly for a while.  It's amazing what happens with that quieting.  Helpful thoughts come in; someone says something with a suggestion; or a resource person hands you a piece of paper with phone numbers to call.

Yes, it's not fast, but that huge puzzle in life, whatever it is, is no stranger to many of us with our various situations and challenges, but there is a divine force in the universe for each of us to call on. It may not seem like any answers come, it may be so slow, but eventually it will all come together...piece by piece!
