Veiled Presence

This title almost sounds like an oxymoron...but think about it. Are there things in your day or life that are right there in front of you but not readily seen?

Nature is a huge place that animals and other things are often not quickly seen. My husband and I took some back roads Monday, returning from a morning outing. Along either side of us was a woods. We were driving quite slowly when we saw three deer.  He spotted them first, pointing the direction for me to look.  I had to really work at seeing them. 

If I had been diving alone, I probably would have taken the faster road, missing the sights of the forest. With a companion, it was a different journey altogether. Animals and outdoor life that was otherwise veiled, now became present!

How many times in our day do we not see the bigger picture at first, until someone points out another side. Often, sitting in spiritual direction, these awarenesses come because the divine is present, the atmosphere is relaxed and amazing things happen. Spiritual direction can be that way.
