Have you ever taken a trip that you were just busting at the seams to take, planning for months and months? Well, my best friend from high school (a couple of years ago!) and I just returned from an Amtrak trip to Seattle!
It took 2 nights/3 days on the train both ways and 3 days there. We certainly had no illusions thinking the trip would be like riding in a top-shelf car but we weren't ready for some of the surprises we did find.
All along the way as we laughed, giggled and sometimes wondered about elements of train travel, we continued to say, "this will be a story." Yes, a short blog here will not allow any details in that story but looking back over life there have been many "stories" in my life and I'm sure yours, too. What are they?
For us, it felt as if a "guide" was with us the entire trip through so many situations. This occurred in ways such as having a helper point us to a restaurant "right there" to a kind gentleman "voiding three parking tickets" I received from the train parking lot.
There were so many times we looked at each other and were simply amazed at how this whole trip panned out. Now, on the other side of a long awaited trip we are so glad we went but gladder still to be home. Our bags didn't allow much space to bring mementoes home but our hearts full of memories sure have lots of stories!! It's great to have a life-time friend to share them with.
